Please join us in welcoming guests from the manga, anime and video game industries!
YASUHIRO NAKAMURA Publisher Yasuhiro Nakamura, president of Kyoshin publishing company, which produces the bi-annual Comiket catalog, runs the International Corner at Comiket, a position which takes him around the world, documenting fan activity. Ten years ago, Nakamura was one of the guests at the very first Yaoi-Con. He returns now to document -- on film and in photos -- how the convention has grown and changed over the last decade. Nakamura will be joined by several Comiket staff members. The video, along with select photos, will be displayed at the International Corner during this year's Winter Comiket, and included in the electronic version of the Comiket catalog. All footage will be reviewed and approved by Yaoi-Con staff before display. NOTE: Filming is not normally allowed at Yaoi-Con, but Nakamura has been given special permission to film our live events, so do not be surprised at the presence of a professional film crew at the convention. All other filming is still prohibited (please let us know if you see anyone else filming on-site).

LYNN FLEWELLING
"Slash," "yaoi," "bishonen," "manga," and "anime" were unknown territory until — a couple of Nightrunner books in — some of her readers began using those terms in relation to her work. Baffled, she checked them out. The universe imploded. But she recovered, and has since become a fan herself, which has certainly slowed down her writing output. Her Live Journal has also contributed to the tragic decline, but you are welcome to visit her there and at the Flewelling newsgroup at Yahoo, where she delights in torturing her fans with snippets of upcoming works and evasive answers to their questions. What can I say? She's just kinky like that. Bio:
Mangaka Kano Miyamoto will be joining us a second time. Miyamoto-sensei debuted in 2001 and has written a number of BL manga, some of which are available here in the U.S. from Deux Press and DramaQueen : Say Please, Lovers and Souls, Two of Hearts, and Not Love. In addition to writing BL manga, she does some illustrations and the occasional non-BL title. She was born June 15th in the Kansai region of Japan, but currently resides in Tokyo. Her likes include horror, the occult, cats and games. A more extensive listing of Miyamoto-sensei's works, plus samples of her art can be found at her Web site.
Her big news for 2010 is the publication of her first BL doujinshi In These Words, which will debut at Fanime at the end of May. For a sneak preview, visit the doujinshi's Web site, Guilt/Pleasure. Visit Jo's main Web site at Jo's Playground YAYOI NEKO
Yayoi Neko's comics have been included in Radio Comixs anthology "Mangaphile" and Antarctic Press's "How to Draw Manga: Next Generation" series, "Ninja High School" and "Gold Digger" annuals, as well as the first edition of her first trade paperback manga "INCUBUS" #1. Yayoi Neko's main work at the moment is the yaoi manga INCUBUS that is currently printed by Media Blasters (aka: Kitty Media and Rare Flix Media) which is available up to volume #3. INCUBUS #4 is presently in the works. She also self-published 2 titles. "Weapons of Mass Destruction," a 32 page short story (that can be found in INCUBUS #1) and her newest title, "Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John H. Watson in The Adventure of the Magnus Concussoris," an illustrated interpretation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story "The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton." Yayoi Neko works mainly in the yaoi genre, but plans to expand into other genres in the future. If she is not drawing, sketching, inking, researching/reading/studying stuff for her manga, then she is moping around recovering from some ailment, playing with and feeding her dog and 2 cats, writing letters, cooking dinner, or doing her best to stay awake in the daytime. >_<;;;

Lynn Flewelling is the author of the Nightrunner series, featuring gay/bi/whatever heroes Seregil and Alec; the gender-bending Tamír Triad; the odd short story or two; and articles on writing. Her work has been described variously as funny, sexy, disturbing, and rather dark.
